My Daughter's Graduation - Third Generation Pharmacist

Hooding Amanda

On May 10th 2008, Amanda graduated from the College of Pharmacy. She is a third generation pharmacist. I was able to hood her during graduation. Also, I was able to give her a copy of "The Oath of a Pharmacist" during the graduation dinner. It was often a little uncomfortable having her at the college, but I was always proud.

Four years ago her Grandfather, Thomas E. Cady, was able to be at the white coat ceremony and welcome her to the profession. He was a wonderful man and a caring pharmacist. He served on the State Board of Pharmacy in Arizona, served on the National Board committee that established the North American Pharmacy Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) as well as serving as President of the Arizona Pharmacy Association. He was the recipient of the Bowl of Hygea award; a very respected honor in pharmacy. He passed on April 23rd, 2008. He would have loved to have been there when she graduated. He was very proud of Amanda. We miss him.
