They were made out of rough maple. It was not easy getting it plained down without big chips. I had thought I would love to work with maple. Now, I am not so sure. I recently have tried cherry, and I am really liking how it mills.

Maple furniture at Mike's
Here are some pictures of things we made. Merriann, Mike and I made them. Merriann and I made the bed for our son's wedding. We later all helped make the TV cabinet and then later the chest of drawers. I made the same bed out of oak for my daughter when she was married. The plans for both the bed and the chest of drawers came from the woodworker's journal.
